Machame route is a 6 & 7 days hiking and camping published trail that leads to the summit at 5,895m, the route is also known as the whiskey route and considered the as popular route. Although the route can be tackled in 6 days it is highly recommended to be use 7 days for better acclimatization.
The path can be accessed from Moshi town and Arusha city, almost 30% of all Kilimanjaro climbers choose this route. In just six or seven days you will get to experience different climatic conditions, from rainforest passing along alpine meadows, moorland, high desert and finally arctic zone. Each day on this route presents its unique ecosystem.

Start your Kilimanjaro adventure with a scenic drive from Moshi to the Machame Gate. After completing park formalities, begin your trek through lush rainforests.
Depart from our camp after breakfast, ascend from the rainforest to the moorland zone, with stunning views of Kibo Peak and Mount Meru.
Todayyou will trek through the alpine desert zone, cross the Shira Plateau, and then descend to Barranco Valley.
Today we will proceed to acclimatize, in preparation for an upcoming summit push. Conquer the Barranco Wall, a challenging climb, before reaching the Karanga Valley.
After breakfast we proceed hiking and reach the intersection which joins with mweka trail. Ascend through the rocky and barren landscape towards the base camp at Barafu.
Around midnight you will start our trek to Uhuru Peak, Summit day! Start your ascent in the early hours, reaching Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. This part is more challenging compared to the other parts of trekking. After reaching stella point we will take a short break and stare at the most beautiful sunrise you are ever likely to see (weather permitting), from there we might encounter snow all the way up to the summit. Descend to Mweka Camp.
This will be the last day of our trekking and we will begin it after having a tasty breakfast at the camp, our trek to the mweka gate will take about three hours. Descend through the lush rainforest, where your Kilimanjaro journey comes to a close at Mweka Gate then drive back to Moshi Town.
